Morganite is a beryllium aluminum silicate mineral, a pink, peach or purplish coloured variety of Beryl. It is sometimes called pink Beryl or Pink Emerald. It has a hexagonal crystal system and a hardness of 7.5 - 8. It was named after financier J.P Morgan, who is also a mineral collector. Deposits can be found in the USA, Brazil, Madagascar and Africa.
Metaphysically, Morganite is said to help one attract and maintain love, encourage loving thoughts and actions, activate and cleanse the heart chakra, as well as help one to recognise close mindedness and egotism that block spiritual development. It is also said to help one recognise unfulfilled emotional needs and unexpressed feelings. Morganite is known for connecting one to the Divine, if kept on one's person for extended time or by holding over the heart, especially during meditations.
Morganite harmonises well with other heart stones such as, Rose Quartz, Emerald, Mangano Calcite, Rhodonite and Rhodochrosite.
