Amber is an organic material made up of fossilised botanic resins; a mixture of hydrocarbons. It has a hardness of 2 to 2.5 and can vary in colour from yellow to brown or a reddish brown and is often transparent.
Dominican Amber, in particular, is from the Dominican Republic and is derived from the resin of the now extinct tree Hymenaea protera. It differentiates itself from Baltic Amber by nearly always being transparent and contains more fossil inclusions.
Metaphysically, Amber is said to increase life force, aid in releasing fear of judgement or conflict and help one to find their inner freedom. It is said to provide energetic protection from negative influences and help one to find their life path and have the courage and confidence to follow it. Amber is also believed to help spur one's innate capacity to manifest prosperity.
