Australian Chrysoprase forms as nodules and veins with Geothite (brown) and other iron oxides in Magnesite rich saprolite below iron and silica caps. Chrysoprase is a variety of Chalcedony and contains small traces of nickel which is responsible for it's colour. It also contains traces of Gaspeite, a rare nickel mineral.
